| Descripción : | This research aims to analyze bilateral exports from the Andean Community (CAN) to the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), based on Tinbergens theory of the gravitational model. Theory that allows capturing trade flows between countries through the distance and the sum of the Gross Domestic Product of each country. In this context, it is sought to show whether the bilateral exports of the smaller countries grew more or less in relation to the exports of the larger countries after the CAN-MERCOSUR trade agreement. For this, an econometric model of panel data is used, with an annual periodicity from 2001 to 2018. The results show an inverse relationship to that expected, between the CAN-MERCOSUR agreement and the bilateral exports of the trade blocks. Similarly, when classifying countries by size, no evidence was found that could affirm that bilateral exports increase or decrease after the trade agreement. |
