| Descripción : | More than 10 years ago, in the valley of Los Chillos (San Rafael - Quito), Merquiauto (Quito Mercantil Automotriz) is born, the largest multi-brand dealer network in the country, has agencies in different points of the country: in Latacunga specializes in Hyundai and Volkswagen; in Riobamba they are leaders in the commercialization of Hyundai vehicles and trucks; in the Puyo and El Tena they provide coverage for the entire East and specialize in Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Volkswagen and Mahindra; In the province of Los Ríos it has two agencies: one on the road to Babahoyo and the other in Valencia and specialize in the Kia brand. Each of these dealerships additional to the commercialization of vehicles, provides the service of preventive and corrective maintenance, collision and painting for vehicles of the aforementioned brands; during the development of the service activities, several types of dangerous waste are generated, which currently are not being collected and stored correctly. The present proposal analyzes the flow of vehicles served during the first half of the year 2019, to then evaluate the activities carried out during maintenance and identify and quantify the waste generated; once the information has been collected through a Pareto analysis and an Ishikawa diagram, the main causes that generate the improper collection and storage of hazardous waste are determined. Once the causes have been identified, a new process (flowchart) is proposed which includes several decision-making, improvement in equipment (tools, collection containers, containers for temporary storage) of the Workshop, an Environmental Policy; Implementing all these changes will prevent the Organization from incurring an economic penalties that could amount to up to dollar 197,000.00 or criminal penalties of up to 19 years of prisson. |
