dc.descriptionObjective: This research is carried out in order to evaluate the degree of knowledge about the handling of methods and practices of disinfection of dental impressions applied by General Dentists and Oral Rehabilitators. Introduction: The oral cavity is a favorable environment for the growth and multiplication of bacteria. We must take into consideration that a patient can be a carrier of any infectious disease, being necessary to take all the necessary precautions; It is important to have knowledge about the processes of disinfection of dental impressions, to avoid the presence of infections in the dental work environment. Materials and methods: For the research, a survey was used that was given to 452 professionals among General Dentists and Oral Rehabilitators, obtaining 270 favorable responses. Results: In general, of the 270 evaluated, there are an average of 4.26, that is, 30.4 per cent of correct answers, which is equivalent to BAD in the qualification levels and with a standard deviation of 2,744 correct answers and YES there are significant differences between the academic degrees (p equal 0.035 lower than 0.05), the higher the average is in SPECIALISTS. Conclusions: The degree of knowledge was determined and we evaluated the disinfection methods that General Dentists and Oral Rehabilitators use for the disinfection of dental impressions, obtaining a degree of knowledge of BAD level.en
