Descripción : Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis, known as IBR, is a viral disease prevalent in Ecuador, causing serious economic losses due to failures in conception, micro abortions, abortions and mummified fetuses. Clinical manifestations such as Vulvo Pustular Vaginitis or critical reproductive failures, causes concern to producers, as well as the seroconversion observed in infected animals, is a problem when interpreting laboratory results among professionals. Therefore, we propose to demonstrate the relationship between clinical manifestations, reproductive status and serological behavior of animals. This study was carried out with an initial group of 31 non-pregnant cows, in which a fixed-time insemination protocol was applied to evaluate the conception and subsequent reproductive and serological behavior of the animals that became pregnant. Clinical examinations, reproductive ultrasound, and serological samples were performed monthly. The complexity of the clinical and serological behavior of infected animals was demonstrated among the 16 cows that became pregnant, regarding the reproductive failures described in the literature, micro abortion was limited in the study period. This study demonstrates the viral activity in the animals by the observed seroconversions, the diversity in the clinical and serological behavior between the cows is shown, as well as the characteristics of the positive and negative animals, relating corpus luteum, vulvo pustular vaginitis and fetal size; therefore, it is recommended to expand studies of this disease, including specific variables that better demonstrate serological behavior in relation to reproductive problems.
