Descripción : The objective of this study was to apply the CORE - OM and Minnesota Job Satisfaction tests to assess the general psychological state and job satisfaction of veterinary professionals working in consulting rooms, clinics, and hospitals in the Quito Metropolitan District. The two questionnaires and a demographic survey were applied to 272 veterinary doctors, generating a data matrix to which the SPSS statistical program was applied, generating an analysis through frequency tables, the Chi Square test, and the Eta test. The results show that the population at risk is made up of women practicing as veterinarians, since a higher average is observed in relation to the general population in terms of the Risk dimension of the CORE-OM questionnaire. In the same way, it was possible to identify that 30 percent of the evaluated population presents features of general psychological discomfort. The results of work satisfaction show that 61.8 percent of veterinarians are satisfied with their work. The results of correlating general psychological discomfort and work satisfaction showed that both variables are dependent. In addition, some demographic factors such as marital status and age were identified as correlating with the presence of general psychological discomfort traits; additionally, significant values of correlation between gender and academic level factors with job satisfaction problems were obtained in the evaluated veterinarians.
