| Descripción : | Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have had a significant role in Latin America and in Ecuador in particular, they have sought to contribute to society with a diverse set of projects in multiple areas. In this respect, it is important to discuss the circumstances and the regulatory measures implemented during the presidency of Rafael Vicente Correa Delgado (2003 – 2013) and how these impacted on civil society organizations. It is relevant to note that the essay focused on analyzing if the economic and political conditions impacted these organizations. As a main result, it is argued that the economic situation during this period influenced the regulatory changes that the president implemented at the time, also that these reflected his position regarding civil society organizations. It is also pointed out that due to the economic situation, and the parameters that have for the allocation of resources, many of the resources were designated to other regions. |
