dc.descriptionThis research and production project presents a museum in Virtual Reality (VR). It is based on the Kichwa Otavalo midwives, and their ancestral knowledge as applied in the midwife role. Therefore, this project serves as an instrument to share this position with future midwives, as well as to spread general knowledge. Ecuador holds a diversity of cultures, knowledge, and traditions; in birthing methods, we see the application of ancestral knowledge through the midwife role. This occupation has transcended centuries, as ancestral knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation through the use of medicinal plants during the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum processes. Regarding the Andean Cosmovision: Mother Earth (Pachamama) and her connection to humanity, the inextricable value of caring for the woman, and the correct usage and application of medicinal plants during childbirth-- ensuring a culturally humanized birth. All of this should be valued, preserved, and shared for future generations.en
