| Descripción : | One of the biggest problems that society currently presents is the accumulation of electronic waste. According to several newspaper articles, the countries that generate the most electronic waste in the world are the United States with 7,000 million tons and China with 6,000 million. While statistics in the region affirm that, in Argentina, Chile, Venezuela and Colombia, they are the ones that generate the most waste. (BBC Mundo. April 20, 2015. Technology Section). It is important to note that in this research prior to this issue, it can be seen that Ecuador does not have public policies for an adequate treatment of electronic waste. However, it can also be shown that in the country there are several companies that are dedicated to the collection, disassembly and reuse of materials that make up electronic elements. Therefore, this research tries to show what is the work of the state and the municipality of the city of Quito at the time of providing treatment to electronic waste. In addition, this research will try to show what are the procedures that these companies follow for the reuse and treatment of electronic waste. |
