Descripción : The rose is a woody and shrubby plant, originating mainly in tropical and temperate zones. Around the world, the most representative rose varieties are: Hybrid Tea Roses, Grandiflora Roses and Floribunda Roses. The introduction of the Rosa genus to Ecuador is partially unknown, but it follows that it was brought by the colonizers of America. The cultivation of roses in Ecuador has had an impact on the commercial market for national floriculture, due to its visual appeal and diversity of colors. Furthermore, due to the benefits of its active ingredients, the rose has become a research plant model in the field of phytochemistry. Currently, the floricultural production of roses that takes place in the greenhouse has several drawbacks; one of them and the most important is the floral production time that ranges from 7 to 8 months, not including the pre and post harvest time. That is why it is necessary to study the flowering process under controlled conditions, such as the in vitro flowering mechanism. In the present study it is proposed to standardize the culture conditions for the in vitro flowering of mini rose hybrids, using the experimental design Plackett Burman. The results obtained determined the photoperiod as a significant variable with respect to the "Time of appearance of flower buds" and the interaction of the photoperiod, ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) and naphthalenacetic acid (ANA) in the culture medium in relation to the "Number of flower buds ”. Likewise, the favorable incidence of a vernalization period prior to the flowering period was observed. Finally, it was determined that the optimal conditions for in vitro flowering of mini rose hybrids are: a pre-treatment of at least 24 hours of vernalization at a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius; a photoperiod of 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness; a concentration of 0.225 milligrams L-1 of NH4NO3 and a concentration of 0.1 milligram L-1 of ANA in the culture medium to obtain the first flower structure in 21 days and 78.49 percent in vitro flowering of hybrids of mini rose.
