Descripción : In the present dissertation, it is evaluated the performance of the Sparse Code Multiple Access (SCMA) technique in a wireless channel with Rice-type fading and presence of interference. The performance is evaluated by considering various operating scenarios. Specifically, simulations of the system are performed considering a single cell and cellular environments. For this purpose, simulation routines were developed in the MATLAB software. These simulations are performed using the Monte-Carlo method. The results show the behavior of the SCMA system in terms of the bit error rate. These results are represented graphically as a function of the signal to noise ratio. They allow a better understanding of the SCMA system operation in both single-cell scenarios and multi-cell (cellular) scenarios. The research carried out in this work showed that the SCMA system performs better when there is line of sight between the mobile terminals and the radio base station. However, it was also evidenced that the system is highly affected by co-cell interference, but, as the channel reuse factor increases, the effects of co-channel interference are mitigated. The cost in this case is a reduction in the number of channels in each cell. Finally, for all simulated and analyzed scenarios, a 16 QAM modulation is considered.
