| dc.description | The following titling work presents a proposal for a Waste Management Manual for Establishments of Minimum Impact of Swine Breeding in the Influence Area of Mariscal Sucre International Airport, based on an interview process and physical characterization of waste. For the preparation of the proposal in the first place, the study area was determined by the criterion of greatest influence, and within it, the sample size determined by the Ecuadorian technical standard in INEN-ISO 2859-1: 2009 for plans of sampling. Resulting in 8 pig farms, in which interview, collection and characterization processes were developed for a period of 4 weeks. The results obtained about: knowledge of waste management, types of waste, and amount of generation were essential to determine the measures that must be taken to make a proper management and to eradicate the problem of the study. In addition, the proposal was socialized with the Ministry of Environment and with the representatives of the pig farms for feedback. The proposal of the manual was developed with strategies for prevention, minimization and recovery of waste, presented in 7 different types of management, which are: management for recyclable solid waste, management for non hazardous non hazardous solids, management for hazardous waste, waste management sharps and management for organic solid waste from domestic activities. solid slurry, liquid slurry and pathology. The study was able to show that none of these farms had environmental considerations, including waste management, therefore it is very important to intervene in these types of establishments to reduce pollution problems generated by waste in the environment. | en |
