| dc.description | The purpose of this degree work is to evaluate the noise impact which cyclists are exposed in the sectors: Historical Center, La Mariscal and Iñaquito of the Metropolitan District of Quito; this was carried out through an objective and subjective analysis. The first investigation phase consisted in make equivalent continuous sound level measurement LAeq on the bikeway of the mentioned sectors; it’s worth to highlight that, others factors were also obtained, such as: the number of circulate vehicles, the journey time, speed, soil type and road type. All these data helped to comparative and statistical analyses, which were carried out in the software IBM SPSS (Statistics). In that way, the analysis was made by comparing the noise level (measured) in each sector and measurement days, also the respectively number of vehicles, considering the number of vehicles that circulated along the traveled routes. Later, analysis of variance tests were carried out ANOVA to evaluate the equality of means and Tukey tests for grouping similar categories. As well, the results of the equivalent continuous sound level were compared LAeq on the routes measured with the noise map made by the University of the Americas in the year 2017, in order to compare the simulated noise levels with the noise levels measured in the sectors where the bikeways are located. In the investigation, a survey was made for cyclists to assess the nuisance that noise, health problems and psychosocial disorders can cause in their journey through the city bikeways. | en |
