The leather processing industry produces wastewater for its different processes, especially in the riverine process, with contaminants such as sodium sulfide, in which the environmental quality and the discharge standard for effluents establish a maximum permissible limit of discharge to the system. public sewer system of 1 mg / l; while, the discharge limit to a body of fresh water is 0.5 mg / l..It is for this reason that the present titration work has the purpose of carrying out an oxidation treatment of this pollutant in the effluents coming from the depilation process; for which the work has been carried out in the company Tenería Inca, located in the city of Ambato, province of Tungurahua. Each time the water from the hair process performed in this company has a sulphide load of 1500 mg / l, much higher than the norm indicates. The first variable studied was the size of the diffuser orifice, and tests were carried out, with two holes, of 2 mm and 4 mm, according to the study by Julio Rondal 2018. It was determined that the best hole size for the oxygen distribution was 2 mm, eliminating up to 60porcent of the sulfides present in the wastewater. In the study of the second variable, the best concentration of the catalyst was determined, using manganese sulfate; tests were performed in four concentrations that were 0.4 mg / l, 1.5 mg / l, 3.0 mg / l and 4.0 mg / l, using the best orifice size determined in the first tests, resulting in the concentration of 1.5 mg / l the best for the treatment of the catalytic oxidation of sulphides in hair waters, for its effectiveness of elimination of sulfides in 2 hours.en
