| dc.description | The lack of study, measures and monitoring in the energy system at the country level, is a problem that generates greater energy consumption and resources. The present work proposes the study of an Energy Audit at the Universidad de las Americas (Granados headquarters), in order to make an energy balance that demonstrates the areas and types of luminaires with problems and identify the critical points of higher consumption and lower efficiency in luminaires, and generate feasible proposals to reduce consumption and costs in the payment of the electrical sheet, accomplished by means of a generation of information, measurements with a luxometer and the execution of formulas. As a result of the energy balance at the Granados headquarters, it was identified that fluorescent type lamps have higher consumption and lower lighting capacity than LED type lamps, as in turn the critical points of higher energy consumption are those that mostly have fluorescent type lighting. The best alternative for reducing energy consumption in the lighting system is the updating of LED technology in the lamps, which allow greater lighting and lower consumption, allowing the redistribution of lighting that will reduce consumption and quantity. | en |
