| Descripción : | OBJECTIVE: To understand the effect of Mézières method on selected variables in patients with non-specific lower back pain. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Experimental study, 10 patients were randomly assigned in 2 groups: 5 patients in the control group (CG) and 5 patients in the experimental group (EG) (average age was 50 years old). The groups were evaluated at the beginning and at the end of the treatment using the following variables: 1) pain measurement through algometry; 2) pelvic tilt in the sagittal plane, using the software BioGD Posturography; 3) level of functional disability, with the Oswestry Lower Back Disability Questionnaire; 4) Hamstring and lower back flexibility, with the Sit and Reach test. The study lasted 4 weeks, with 12 sessions in total. The experimental group received treatment with physical agents selected in KINNEMED Rehabilitation Center plus Mézières method. The control group received conventional treatment (physical agents and stretching). |
