Descripción : The species Oryctolagus cuniculus (domestic rabbit) has gained popularity as a new companion animal in Quito-Ecuador, as a result, there has also been an increase in this patient in the daily clinic. Because for various reasons they can develop pathologies that merit a specialized management and attention. With the establishment of a baseline of information on the care and management of the Rabbit in clinic, it was sought to determine the level of knowledge of the veterinarians and to identify critical points for the later elaboration of a guide of management, which was oriented to Dermatological, ethological and digestive problems. For the study, survey questionnaires were applied in veterinarians (N: 114) registered in the Metropolitan district of Quito and later the information obtained through cakes, frequency analysis and data correlation were analyzed. While the guide was conducted through the organized synthesis of information, obtained from a systematic bibliographic review of the last 10 years, worldwide. The results revealed that the acceptance of a practical guide for handling rabbits was 84 por ciento, since 88 por ciento of the veterinarians surveyed have received and attended rabbits in consultation. of which 46 por ciento attends this patient more than three times a year.
