Descripción : Oral cleaning people is essential to prevent periodontal diseases such as gingivitis and periodontitis, avoiding mucogingivales alterations in this study was analyzed focused on the color change (inflammatory effect) of the gingiva on the facial surface of teeth and thus assess its possible alteration. The reason being gingivitis study, it should be stressed in the care of oral hygiene of the patient who has proper daily tooth brushing, proper flossing, mouthwash complementary. The objective of this study in “Centro Odontológico de la Universidad de las Américas” was to compare through studies: observational and experimental the difference in efficacy between propolis vs chlorhexidine 0.12 percent by irrigation procedure of both substances In the mouth divided after a routine dental prophylaxis in order to have an alternative to the time to plan a correct hygienic phase in the treatment to follow, because this study is based mainly in the coloration of the gingiva to determine its possible inflammation . In conclusion the study propolis proved an excellent anti-inflammatory; In addition to being comfortable for the patient compared to chlorhexidine which was not well tolerated, it was shown that propolis in most patients had an excellent anti-inflammatory effect based on observation of gingival staining (inflammatory effect).
