It seems like the country is surrounded by a rapid increase in technological developments, which make the lifestyle of an average Ecuadorian easier every day, as he and she finds himself and herself on his and her way to allocating amounts to unnecessary items, which –on many occasions-replace the principal necessities such as rent, food, education, etc. The goal of this study is to relate the total income to the expenditures-of the information technology personnel of the University of the Americas-on Oral Health. A descriptive study was conducted on 37 people, who were surveyed. A survey that consisted of 15 closed-ended multiple-choice questions was prepared. The results were shown through graphs and tables, and the hypothesis verification was done with the test of Kruskal-Wallis using non-parametric analysis. The 67.57 percent considered the regular dental checkup important whereas 94.59 percent of the people who were surveyed rarely changed their cell phone -referring to buying a new one with the latest technology- which reveals that the people who were surveyed have become aware of the importance of taking care of their oral health. It was concluded that amongst the people surveyed, people who have a family of their own or who have a number of children spend more money on oral health than the people who are single, who spend a small percentage of their income on oral health.en
