dc.descriptionSelf-assessment is considered an effective practice in the professional field in which people should exercise good judgment, repeatedly, quickly and almost without problems. On the other hand, pedagogical skills have a major impact on the performance of children and the education system itself (Schulmeyer, 2002). To take in account the reasons for the application of specific teaching strategies in the classroom can meet better the characteristics of each individual as a learner. This mixed method research aim to find the value and significant features of a questionnaire that guide the process of self-analysis about the internships of students at the Universidad de las Américas in order to investigate its self- onfidence and consistency when implementing strategies of individual and collaborative learning in the classroom. The data collected was interpreted based on the stages of reflection proposed by Timothy Casey, 2014. In addition, through a focus group with the research participants, perceptions about self-evaluative practices were obtained as well as some experiences and views on their program of bachelor The framework of the analysis of the data gathered establishes the need and interest of the students to have a tool to guide their process of self-reflection and to route them towards more conscious practices. The study concludes with recommendations for future studies to develop this ability in early childhood education students.en
