| dc.description | This paper presents a compilation of data about anatomy, physiology and function of the tooth structure and pathological processes: infectious, hereditary, acquired and idiopathic affecting dogs and cats. The various criteria set of books, journals, symposia, etc. They are evidence that the veterinary dentistry specialty is suing not just a stage in the clinical examination. Example of this is that there are studies and research that highlight the importance of this branch in veterinary holistic medicine. Statistical analysis was based on establishing the behavior of the two species dogs and cats against the possible interaction of individual characteristics (age, race, food and medical history) with the most common oral disorders. Giving importance in these conditions to periodontal disease functional set of complications that result in the loss of dental structures and loss of oral and physical health. In this respect it was found that 72 percent of the tested animals showed abnormal oral health in Valle de los Chillos. | en |
