Descripción : The following Plan represents a business opportunity since neither in Quininde, nor in its surroundings, there is one single slaughterhouse that complies with all the basic standards of quality and hygiene; due to both high –demand of beef and purchasing power of the people form the area, this plan benefits the investors as well as the population. A research (sector, industry, competitors) was conducted to visualize the actual situation of the business background in which this Business Plan will take place. A descriptive qualitative market research was conducted –interviews with experts and focus groups– as well as a quantitative one –personal surveys– which came out with the preferences of possible clients and confirmed the wish from Quininde’s people for a slaughterhouse to be started. A marketing plan was designed to achieve the sales objectives and to position the brand “Chaparral” in the top-of-mind of the consumers. A business plan was developed to determine the necessary processes for the correct operation of the slaughterhouse; it details every stage from the growing of cattle to the sale of the meat. A chapter was developed for the management team; it establishes how many people are necessary to run this business plan and also to ascertain the activities and responsibilities for every member of the organization. It was evinced, using a Grantt’s diagram that approximately a year will be necessary until the business opening; from that moment on, sales income will be collected. For the financial analysis cash flows were projected in three different scenarios: optimist, normal and pessimist, each with different leverage methods; the project’s cost of opportunity was calculated and it was determined, for each scenario, that the NPV is positive and the income rate is higher than the cost of opportunity (19%).
