Resumen : La juventud, desde siempre, ha sido una fuerza imparable dentro del campo social. El poder hegemónico temió y teme sus múltiples formas de resistencia, desafío y expresión en contra de todas las bases que sostienen y justifican las fuerzas dominantes...
Descripción : Since the beginning of times, youth has been seen as the unstoppable strength within the social dynamic of every civilization. The commanding power had feared and stills fears the multiple forms of resistance that youth can handle, expressing itself against the own basis that support and justify these commanding forces that rule the society. Regardless of its undeniable ability to transform society, the youth revolutions are not studied as a process; they are usually taken as a momentary, impulsive phenomenon which it is not likely to leave any further heritage than a romantic attachment to a utopian idealism. In Ecuador, one of each three Ecuadorians is young, which means that youth is the biggest fraction inside the population. Their part as social agents defines the scenery of the entire society, as well as its nature and future. The purpose of this investigation is to determine, starting from the analysis of the organization Diabluma – self defined as a creator of spaces for the social and political participation of Ecuadorian youth – the real interference and effectiveness in terms of social contribution that youth has, respecting its natural diversity. The results of this work show that Diabluma, even though it has creative resources when it comes to attracting the youth, it is not really representative, it does not have a true recognized presence inside public space and it is not inclusive. Because of their own internal policies and the ways they choose to handle their own projects, Diabluma lets outside of their line a high percentage of the youth inside the city. Therefore, it does not have enough support among this population, and it can not generate a real participative and democratic space for them. Diabluma it is not clearly inside the imaginary of the youth. This investigation goes deep inside how Diabluma acts, what their work had achieved and how their strategies are not effective when it come to turning the organization into a real space of participation created exclusively for the youth. It does not care for the truth needs of youth and it does not either acts from and for them in a democratic way.
