Descripción : The seat belt was created with the aim of minimizing the impact, injuries and even that passengers are thrown out of the vehicle in the event of a collision, the seat belt with a three point anchor design is the universal standard for all vehicles and Since 1993, these belts have been placed on all the seats of the vehicle (MUY HISTORIA, 2019). This creation by the Swedish Nils Bohlin, was considered one of the eight most significant inventions between 1885 and 1995 according to the German patent and trademark office (MUY HISTORIA, 2019). Currently the use of seat belts is practically mandatory worldwide, as is the case in our country where failure to comply with the proper use of this accessory is regulated by the Comprehensive Organic Penal Code (COIP) as a contravention for both the driver, as for each of the passengers who are inside the vehicle, without any type of exception (ECUADOR A. N., 2014). The use of seat belts can become uncomfortable if you do not have the custom of wearing them, even more so for women who are pregnant, since there are even doubts about their convenience since it is thought that It can damage the fetus. There are two moments during the gestation period in which special care must be taken. During the first three months because the amount of amniotic fluid is low and a frontal blow can cause bleeding in the uterus due to detachment of the placenta (in this case the fetus does not get enough oxygen). And also during the last trimester, due to the dimensions of the abdomen, the use of the safety belt by pregnant women can be annoying, in addition, in the event of an accident or sudden braking, labor can be brought forward or cause trauma to the future child (his head can be hit with the mother's pelvic bones) (MAPFRE, 2020).
