Descripción : Objective: Evaluate the adhesive strength between the ceromer, cemented with preheated composite and dual cement. Introduction: Nowadays, there are different techniques to perform indirect and direct restorations. However, due to the benefits of indirect restorations, the main advantages that these presents are, better marginal sealing, easy elaboration of de contact point and occlusal morphology, less stress due to polymerizacion and greater durability of the restorations. There are several materials to cement these restorations, including dual cements and preheated composites. There are several studies that support the use of these materials, but there is no consensus regarding which material provides better adhesive strength. Material and methods: Experimental study, in-vitro. A sample of 20 third molars was used. The sample was divided into two groups (n = 10); in the first group, dual cement was applied, and in the second group, preheated composite was used. A crosscut of 1 ± 0.2 mm was performed per sample to obtain rods, and perform a microtensile test. Results: To generate adhesive fractures in the cemented ceromer samples with preheated composites, a pressure of 0.055 Mpa (IQR=0,015) was needed. While in the cemented ceromer samples with dual cement, a pressure of 0.038 Mpa (IQR=0,015) was required. Results were statistically significant (p major 0.0001), supporting the use of preheated composite. Conclusions: After comparing the pressure needed to cause adhesive fractures in cemented ceromer samples with preheated composite vs samples with dual cement, it was found that greater pressure (0.017 Mpa) is needed to break the adhesive bond in the preheated composite group.
