Descripción : The objective of the current study is to determine the existence of the relationship between the facial biotype and the relationship of the bad positions of the mandibular third molars, according to the classification of Pell and Gregory, where a sample was obtained from the Radiographic Center of the Faculty of Dentistry of the UDLA, of the System of Dixel, thus finding 2613 radiographs of which 41 met the inclusion criteria, where the ages were 16 to 32 years. Additionally, the prevalence was found according to the class, type and position of third molars, determined by the study of panoramic radiography, where it was observed that piece 38 results in a prevalence of Class II, Type B, Position included and impacted and piece 48 with a prevalence result of Class II, Type C, Retained position and its most frequent biotype is the dolichofacial, where it was observed that the largest number of radiographs was the dolichofacial biotype. In addition, the chi-square test was performed with a significance level of 0.05 (5%) with a 95% confidence level, to determine the association between both variables, so given that the error range was of 0.00, it is stated that there is a relationship between the bad positions of third molars and the facial biotype in radiographs of 16 to 32 years of the UDLA. In this way it was established that there is a relationship between the position of the third mandibular molar with the facial biotype.
