Descripción : The study was carried out in an experimental farm located in Urcuquí, Ibarra. The place has an average height of 2220 meters above sea level and temperatures of 13 to 24 ° C. The objective was to generate information on the floral phenology of jicama or also known as yacon in Ecuador, to enhance its agro-industrial use. The work was carried out through the selection of 30 plants of the accession 1249 of the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIAP), images were captured of the development of the structures where the parts of the jicama flower were identified, which are found in the document. detailed with information for the use of interested users. In the qualitative part mentioned, for the structural characterization a Cannon camera was used in the field and a trinocular stereoscope in the laboratory with which characteristic structures of the jicama flower (ligulate flower, tubular flower, fruit) were observed. The color of the structures was determined with the help of the color code letter of the Royal Horticultural Society (sixth edition), which allowed each color to be described by means of a code. With the aforementioned, a visual and theoretical description was made based on the BBCH scale, thus determining each phenological stage of the flower. Quantitative variables such as the polar and equatorial diameter of the yolk were recorded, with which we obtained data of average, variance, standard deviation, coefficient of variation for the growth curves. The reproductive stage of this accession occurred 105 days after the growth of the floral bud, where the anthesis begins and the first extended female flowers registered as a phase (61) can be seen based on the BBCH scale. From this phase begins the growth of the male flower. Data were recorded of the days development degrees that the crop required for its growth from this phase, being 432.50 GDA, in which the flower reaches senescence. Keywords: BBCH scale, thermal units, phenological, yacon, Smallanthus sonchifolius.
