Descripción : The objective of this research is to explain the influence of the type of presidential leadership on foreign policy. A case analysis is carried out in order to understand the relationship between the personality, the presidential leadership style and the decision making and foreign policy formulation processes. An analysis of the influence of the presidential leadership style of Donald Trump on US foreign policy is presented, delimiting the case to the nuclear provocations of North Korea in the first year and a half of the Trump presidency. In this way approaches to the leader are presented to know his personal characteristics that have built his interests, personality, identity and ideas about reality, by compiling news and publications on his social network Twitter, to understand from a constructivist perspective his worldview and how he has built his own for the State and the international structures. This is how the typology of Thomas Preston on the influence on foreign policy that has the style of presidential leadership is applied, through its variables: experience in policy formulation, need for power and cognitive complexity. Hence, Trump's Magistrate-Rebel leadership style is related to relevant facts of American foreign policy, analyzing from his initial aggressive-competitive stance towards North Korea, to his preference for engaging in dialogue with the North Korean representative. It is concluded that his narcissistic, impulsive, power-hungry, dominant, inexperienced and unopened features have generated an energetic and sometimes controversial foreign policy towards North Korea, showing the dynamic construction of the world based on interests and identity of the agents. Foreign policy, then, is characterized by the importance he gives to his personal interests that he converts into State ones, to the simplistic vision he has of the world, to his centralization of all decisions, to the importance he gives to his personal image and his desire to keep the United States as a hegemony that no other country can challenge.
