Descripción : The Bellavista neighborhood of the Quevedo canton is located on the slope near the Quevedo river, at the moment the sector is in a state of emergency as a result of the winter wave, which caused the increase in rainfall, which generated part of the slope and the vegetation cover fell off, endangering the lives of the population and the settled dwellings of the sector. The risk for landslide has been identified but not evaluated in its entirety, on the other hand, the Risk Management Secretariat of the canton does not have a standard methodology to evaluate and minimize the potential effects in the case of the materialization of natural risk. This research project aims to apply the methodology established by the United Nations Development Program (PNUD) for the evaluation of landslide risk, applied in Peru, and seeks to determine the level of risk in the Bellavista neighborhood and propose measures to increase the capacity of the neighborhood to respond to the threat. Three main factors will be analyzed: social, environmental and economic through the characterization of the study area. For this analysis, two methodologies will be followed: inductive and deductive. The analysis will be supported by the gathering of information in the field through surveys, photographs, interviews and the development of the Check-list and a FODA analysis, the parties surveyed will be the public organizations and the inhabitants of the Bellavista neighborhood. Subsequently, with the information raised, the natural risk assessment will be carried out using matrices through the study of the threat and vulnerability presented by the neighborhood, and then the risk level will be established by color scales due to the combination of the threat and the vulnerabilities. Finally, the ArcGIS software will design risk maps of the risk areas. Once the level of natural risk has been identified and evaluated, Auto protection and Emergency Plan will be proposed, developing measures and technical actions to increase the response capacity of the neighborhood, the plan will contain recommendations for preventive activities, and will seek to strengthen management organizations of risks on natural events.
