The present work is based on an observation of the dynamics of the Syrian conflict from the perspective of several academics and the principal information sources in the Middle East and West in order to have a different vision about the events of the current controversy. This work aims to investigate, examine and analyze the different factions involved in it, in addition to the two main belligerents, which are the government of Bashar Al-Assad and the Syrian rebels after the Arab Spring. This topic will be studied based on the great problematic that it represents today, not only in political terms, but also in social, cultural, religious and global security terms. It is very relevant to understand the Syrian conflict since it stopped being an internal issue to turn into a regional scale problem, which brought new actors to the international system; as the Islamic State is, along with its ambition for the re-establishment of caliphates in the Middle East. This research will be carried out by the hand of offensive realism and balance of power theory, for its importance in the configuration of the agendas of the actors and their interest in the region. Finally, it is relevant to explain the role of Russia in the dynamics of the conflict, either for the management of the developing situation as for its possible solution, thus dictating the new Middle East agenda meanwhile the role of United States and the regional powers had lost hegemony, changing in this way the balance of power in the region.en
