Periodontal disease (PD) is an infectious condition of the tissues that surround and support the tooth. The periodontium is made up of gingival tissues, the periodontal ligament, alveolar bone and cementum. When PD is not treated or controlled, it can cause the premature loss of teeth in the jaw and maxilla. It is essential to assess and classify the stage of the disease in order to establish a treatment plan and prognosis. The purpose of this study is to provide an alternative treatment plan for periodontal disease (PD) in the small animal clinic, through the application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The objective is to avoid the unnecessary extraction of dental pieces. The study will describe if there is regeneration of the supporting tooth tissue affected by the bacterial infection. In this study we assessed the regeneration of the periodontium, the gums, and the periodontal ligament. This case report involves an adult canine with PD. Once the periodontal disease was staged, the prophylactic treatment of each tooth was carried out. Subsequently, the regenerative treatment (PRP) was applied to the affected parts, based on the dental chart four variables were valued: Periodontal Depth (Pn), Gingival Index (Gn), Dental Calculus (Cn) and Gingival Recession (Rn). The study was conducted over three months, and was divided into three sessions, two of them applied to the treatment and the last one assessed the treatments progress. All the data obtained were non-parametric data, Friedman test was used, which resulted in 2 variables with statistical significance (Cn 0.00 Gn 0.01) and 2 variables with no statistical significance (Pn 0.066). ) (Rn 0.191). In conclusion, there is a clinical improvement but not a favorable statistic based on the data.en
