Descripción : This research focuses on analyzing how to regulate, what characteristics, dynamics and problems of aesthetic plastic surgery in Ecuador, in order to understand how this issue is carried out in the country. According to the State Attorney Generals Office during 2014 until 2017, there were 460 victims of medical malpractice in plastic surgeries throughout the country, the provinces with the most complaints are: Guayas, Pichincha and Azuay. In Ecuador, the institution was in charge of giving the certificate and permission to work both in places where aesthetic and professional surgeries are offered, in the Ministry of Public Health. This state entity has a book of statutes and regulations (Health Code), which determine the control and safety parameters that each of the centers that offer these services must provide, so that each hospital with the norms and its time a safe place where people feel like this type of surgeries. As part of the conceptual framework, this research presents the state of the art where research has been carried out on the academic institutions about bodies in construction and on how media influence people to perform plastic surgeries. In addition, article 324 of the Organic Code of Health has been used, which states that: health service providers must comply with health regulations. in addition, the rating will be issued in the form of licenses, certificates of good practice or other instruments defined by the National Health Authority. It has also taken into account, publications, national and international media, references to the same topic that is proposed to investigate. The research proposes a methodological design that starts from a qualitative approach and is considered with the information of the interview as the main research, in addition to the life story is made to complement the work. The main sources are representatives of the Ministry of Public Health, doctors, lawyers and testimonies.
