Resumen : Introducción: El desgarro parcial del manguito rotador es una lesión del complejo formado por cuatro tendones, supraespinoso, infraespinoso, redondo menor y subescapular…
Descripción : Introduction: The partial tear of the rotator cuff is a lesion of the complex formed by four tendons, supraspinatus, infraspinatus, minor round and subscapular. It is estimated that this injury is 3.7 per 100,000 inhabitants, with a higher occurrence in men than in women. Objective: Determine the effectiveness of the use of Theraband in the functionality with a protocol of physiotherapy and rehabilitation in patients presenting partial tear of the rotator cuff. Methods: The present study type experimental, prospective. Recruited ten adults who present a partial tear of the rotator cuff between 40 and 60 years old, who go to the Clinic SIME in Cumbayá. Patients will be randomly designated in two groups of five each. The first one will be control group (CG), this group will receive the physiotherapy treatment of strengthening with weights. The second one will be the experimental group (EG), formed by the patients who will receive the strengthening physiotherapeutic treatment with Theraband. It was evaluated: Electric goniometer, ergonomic dynamometer, Constant scale. Results: Statistical analysis through the test T Strudent found a significant increase in joint range, in CG flexion and abduction with (p equal 0.01), external rotation (p equal 0.04); in the increasing EG it was significant in all movements, flexion and external rotation (p equal 0.03), abduction (p equal 0.03) and internal rotation (p equal 0.05). Muscle strength significantly increased in CG flexion (p equal 0.04), abduction (p equal 0.03) and external rotation (p equal 0.01), in the EG it was only significant in two movements, external rotation (p equal 0.04) and internal rotation (p equal 0.05). In functionality, the Post Hoc analysis of Turkey showed that the two groups significantly improved the functionality within each group GC p equal 0.001 and GE p equal 0.02. Conclusion: The training with the Theraband is as effective as the weights within a protocol of physiotherapy and rehabilitation in patients who presented partial tear of the rotator cuff, since they improve all the evaluated variables.
