| Descripción : | The present subject of study was carried out in order to establish and know the degree of dissatisfaction with the use of dental prostheses, in patients who are members of residences for older adults, in the Valle de los Chillos sector, evaluation in a period of 2 years. months (September - October) through the Oral Impacts in Daily Activities (OIDP) and Geriatric Index - General Oral Health Evaluation Index (GOHAI) index. In a representative sample of three residences for older adults, surveys were conducted and the different characteristics of the sample and the correct application of the instruments are included. Oral Impact in Daily Activities (OIDP) and Geriatric - General Index of Oral Health Evaluation (GOHAI). Giving as well as results in a total of 42 participants, between 65 to 98 years, in which the female gender predominates with 71%. It was achieved that 57% of the participants were dissatisfied with their oral health status regarding the use of dental prostheses; being the masculine gender that presents a lower perception of the personal oral state with a 42%. According to the Oral Impacts in Daily Interpretations (OIDP) index, it was known that eating-drinking, hygiene and speech-pronunciation, referred to more difficulty for study participants. Finally, the GOHAI obtained a greater exclusion in the characteristics of the population and in another side the OIDP index showed a higher relation with the state of the dentition. |
