Descripción : This thesis proposes the design of a system - product of industrial graphic design, which will be useful to recover the organic material that is generated daily as a result of the sale of food in the 58 restaurants in the neighborhood La Floresta. The organic waste that is obtained in this device will be processed to convert it into organic fertilizer through composting in municipal areas located in La Floresta. After following the types of quantitative, bibliographic and exploratory research, it was determined that one of the most important problems in La Floresta is the wastage that is given of organic waste and it was decided to carry out the research precisely in this sector of the Capital; another reason is that La Floresta is an emblematic place of Quito in which have already been developed several citizen initiatives focused on the benefit of the community, in addition is an organized neighborhood in which interest for culture, the environment and urban themes is a constant. The data obtained from the quantitative research show that 96.6% would be willing to contribute to this initiative, seeing as a possibility to optimize resources, are interested in recycling or in urban gardens, or because it attracts attention Contributing to the environment, which is very favorable since it makes the implementation of the proposal much more feasible. Finally, it is expected that the design of this system - product can be replicated in other neighborhoods of Quito, adapting to the needs of each sector.
