Descripción : Cinema manages to create different worlds or environments that become credible for the audience, through the combined work of Art Direction department and an au world of authors view. These styles are the result of the Production Design department responding to questions like: What does the author have in mind? What is your worldview? What environment does the author want to create? In this thesis, an analysis was made of how art direction and visual style in a film are linked to the emotions, themes and worldview that an author wants to create. The study asks if the art department should be considered a mechanical work that should be adjusted to a script, or should be done with internal inspiration. For this, the work of Hayao Miyazaki, who has revolutionized the way to do animation, gas been taken as a strong reference. Based, in part, on this analysis, I have created The World of Child an animation illustrated by hand on the basis of what was studied and learned about Miyazaki. This short film responds to the worldview that I have proposed when using metalanguage to subtly detach itself from the current industrial animation. This way, I can concentrate on the beauty of the simple, but without forgetting to apply a functional mechanism. For an artist, there is a fine line between adhering to a mechanism or letting the internal inspiration of the author permeate the whole process of production. For that reason, it is essential to find a balance between an effective and efficient process, yet without forgetting the internal motor that inspires one to be an audiovisual creator.
