| Descripción : | The following degree Project is a vehicle washing process optimization proposal on Renault’s concessionaire located in Eloy Alfaro and Jose Queri, by the use of lean tools and pursuing standardized work. To determine the improvement proposal, information was gathered to identify the problem focusing. A time study helped to find the variability on the washing process activities, as well as the consequent problems caused by the excessive water consume; these problems were taken into account as improvement opportunities. The suggested solution was a new process deployment known as dry washing which will substitute the traditional one. Nevertheless, the project developed a manual process planning that guarantee the productivity of the new dry washing process. Finally, the activity results of the improvement proposal were estimated, obtaining time reduction on the process performance, variability reduction on the activities, higher control on the washing area, efficiency increase on the bottleneck encountered, and a financial analysis that demonstrate the project profitability. A financial analysis was carried out considering the normal annual costs and the project costs. By this analysis, production savings were observed as well as the profitability of the project using the IRR and NPV calculation. |
