Resumen : Antecedentes: Los cuidadores de niños con parálisis cerebral, refieren dolor regional tras la compresión, estiramiento o sobrecarga muscular, que afecta al sistema músculo esquelético y disminuye la tolerancia al trabajo...
Descripción : Background: Caregivers of children with cerebral palsy (CP), report regional pain after compression, stretching or muscle overload, which affects the musculoskeletal system and decreases tolerance to work. The presence of a muscular tension band produces functional restrictions, which, when under heavy pressure, generate trigger points (PG) inside. Objectives: To determine the prevalence of non-specific musculoskeletal disorders in caregivers of children with PC Methods and Materials: The following musculature was evaluated in the specialized integral rehabilitation center and the Kinesiocontrol center by means of algometry (bilaterally 2 times with interval of 5 minutes): Sternocleidomastoid, trapezius, scapula elevator, infraspinatus, minor round and iliocostal at 40 Caregivers. The BMI of each caregiver was recorded, besides weight (kg) and size of each child. The Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) was completed. We also classify PC by motor type, and by GMFCS to each child. To establish the differences between each side of the muscles, a student T-test was performed for independent samples. NMQ results will be presented in percentages. Results: The T test did not find significant differences in algometry when comparing the sides, for no muscle, nor group…see attached.
