The research is objective was to determine the presence of serum antibodies for Newcastle disease in backyard poultry farming in the Checa town. This study was motivated by the problem observations and losses suffered by poultry farmers in the town because avian pathologies like Newcastle disease; therefore, it was assessed whether the vaccinated birds or do not develop antibodies to the virus; through the ELISA test. It is important to signalize that the vaccination activity it is done once a year mainly with breeding by getting vaccinated young birds just when you match the process of immunization for them. The population of study was 176 birds (80 broiler breeder hens and 96 chicken vaccinated or not). Currently also instructed 16 poultry farmers about pathology of Newcastle and the most appropriate way of preventing it, offering new knowledge and skills in areas of prevention and control (biosecurity and vaccination), clinical signs and diagnosis. It was evident that there is a significant difference between antibody presence among birds vaccinated and non-vaccinated; therefore, it is concluded that there is a positive relationship between immunization activity and the development of antibodies against Newcastle disease.en
