| Descripción : | Taller ARO-960 (2015 - 2) identified Coca as a city in development where different strategies were proposed in the interest of a sustainable urban development. One of the core objectives was of preventing the horizontal growth of the city into the jungle by encouraging the densification in height within the existing urban fabric. The intervention area covers the immediate surroundings of the airport, from Av. 9 de Octubre in the East, up to Av. Alejandro Labaka in the West. Within this area, there were two scenarios identified: in the South, the zone of greater consolidation; and the North, the zone of lesser consolidation. The proposal of equipments established in the POU ARO-960 (2015 - 2) corresponds to the structuring of new projects that represent a demand in the different areas and to the rehabilitation of equipment in poor conditions. The Cemetery Rehabilitation - Ciudad Francisco de Orellana (COCA) seeks to consolidate and provide services the city lacks in the present such as wake rooms, religious ceremonies, and crematory, with the purpose of making out of the cemetery a dignified and appropriate space for burial and visiting graves, which is difficult to do in its current state. The Cemetery Rehabilitation seeks to favor the funeral activities in a dignified way through landscape and relationship to its environment. The Linear Park over the airport strip, proposed in POU ARO-960 (2015. - 2) unfolds in its southern end with the Cemetery, which is why the project must adapt to the clustering of large groups of people that represents a Park, becoming an urban asset while maintaining the introvert and private aspect that represents a Cemetery. The cultural richness the city of Coca possesses, presently as well as historically, allows a conceptual development of the project with the purpose of contextualizing the project as a unique architectural element. The cremation as an alternative to burial, which prevents the constant contamination of the soil caused by buried corpses, is adopted as the only system for laying to rest in the site. As a result, space previously destined for graves is now freed up for the creation of landscape elements for the comfort of the user. |
