Objective: This research had as general objective to evaluate the influence of dent facial disharmony in the self-esteem of children from 9 to 12 years old who attend the dental clinic of the University of the Americas, from which specific objectives were proposed as; To determine the aesthetic perception of the study group, to identify the most frequent dent facial alterations in the evaluated children, to evaluate the parents appreciation regarding the oral aesthetics of their children and economic factor. Method: In order to continue this research, we first carried out surveys designed for this study, which facilitated the collection of data, after which we went to the Odontological Clinic of the University of the Americas, the sample consisted of 50 children between the ages of 9 At 12 years were randomly selected and each of them came with their representatives, who signed the letter of informed consent and agreed to be part of the investigation, proceeded to examine and perform photographic analisys of each patient. Results: It was confirmed that if there is influence between the dent facial disharmony related to the dental aesthetic aspect since in the surveys conducted 50 percent of the children reacted with a positive response to the question about whether they resent the appearance of their mouth, likewise some children (70 percent) presented signs of discomfort at the moment of smiling since they did not feel comfortable with their smile. When considering the importance that the parents give their children in relation to the aspect of their mouth, 60 percent of them responded positively, and 40 percent reacted negatively, that is, there is a percentage that impacts negatively and unconcerned for the general dental health of their children. However, by asking the parents questions, it was possible to state that the reason why the representatives gave little importance to the dental health of their children had a lot to do with the economic factor they were going through since all said they had tried to look Solutions, being found with high costs of the treatments and thus preventing to improve the health and the aesthetic dental aspect of its children. Conclusions: Certain children wanted to change something in their mouths to improve the appearance of their mouth and to feel more free when interacting with their peers and to feel good about themselves, the most common answers among the children surveyed about the change In his mouth was “my crooked teeth” and “I would like my teeth whiter”, with this also analisys that the most frequent dental characteristic to influence self-esteem was dental crowding, especially because the children are still in their Dental replacement according to their chronological age, and likewise the absence of dental pieces due to the same dental replacement situation. Recommendations: A correlation with this research topic is “school bullying”, which found that there are children affected in their school environment more unfamiliar, bothering the child to interrelate with others, it should be noted that there were also children who In spite of presenting some non-favorable dental characteristics, they were not affected by the way in which they look, since they had a high self-esteem when evaluating themselves, reason important to emphasize that the subject of the bullying should not be ignored to help To children who lack love and courage towards them, It is even a topic that in some cases leads to a student dropout.en
