This research aims to analyze reporter how the individual presents and shows its activity to others within the virtual platform Facebook. This project is monitored daily for six months to check and study the elements that prove the representation of an identity of person on the network through a virtual ethnography. The main thrust behind this research is the change in interpersonal relations, development of mobile devices; replacing faces contact. The elements within the network as emoticons, photographs, videos, links, news groups that replace verbal language. It is also important to note the dynamic language used by users who decide what data to display, share with the rest of the virtual community, therefore within the platform is a dichotomy between what is truly an individual is generated, and what you want be to the rest of the community context reaffirms the contents published. Throughout the thesis it will be discussed in the theory of Symbolic Interaction in presentation of the self (self) Erving Goffman. This proposal is relatively defined as an approach to the study of the life of human groups and human behavior, in which human beings interact with symbols to construct meaning. By this theory, this research will be addressed from the terms posed by the author in metaphorical terms will be explained throughout the development of the theory.
