Resumen : Steve Albini es conocido como el padrino del grunge. Junto con su vida profesional en el estudio, Albini fue guitarrista y vocalista en las bandas; Big Black, Rapeman y Shellac, todas pertenecientes al género noise rock; Tingen, 2005, párr. 1. Esta vasta experiencia permitió a Albini integrarse de la mejor manera en su actual ocupación dentro de la música; ingeniero de grabación. Lejos de las guitarras y más cerca de las consolas, Albini se ha involucrado en proyectos musicales y álbumes ícono del movimiento musical y cultural de la década de los noventa. Entre los más importantes están; In útero; Nirvana, Surfer rosa; The Pixies, y Ride of me; PJ Harvey, Bush, 2003, párr. 3. Todos estos álbumes han logrado la alabanza de los críticos. Por ejemplo, acerca el álbum Surfer rosa; Las grabaciones eran muy básicas y muy exigentes. Albini utilizó pocos efectos especiales; consiguió un sonido de guitarra agresivo, a menudo violento, y se aseguró de que la sección rítmica golpee como una sola; Azerrad, 2001. Pág. 53. Así mismo, acerca del álbum In útero; Steve Albini, un defensor de lo agresivo y con una producción en vivo, dio al trío el sonido crudo y gutural que deseaban; NME, 2014, párr. 2. Las características que brindan las técnicas de microfonía en el trabajo de grabación de Steve Albini, fueron el enfoque de esta investigación. Estas técnicas se adaptaron a los micrófonos que se pudieron utilizar en la grabación del trabajo práctico y se aplicaron al concepto del estilo musical trash punk de la banda H. La investigación se desarrolló a través de una descripción de los procedimientos de la grabación y un fonograma de cuatro canciones, aplicando el conocimiento investigado acerca de las técnicas de microfonía del ingeniero de grabación Steve Albini.
Descripción : Steve Albini is best known as the goodfather of grunge. Along with his professional life in the recording studio, Albini was the guitarist and vocalist in; Big Black, Rapeman and Shellac, all belonging to the genre noise rock; Tingen, 2005, párr. 1. This vast experience allowed Albini to perform in his current occupation; recording engineer. Far from the guitars and closer to de recording consoles, Albini has been involved in music projects and albums icon of the musical and cultural movement of the nineties, like; In utero; Nirvana, Surfer rosa, The Pixies, y Ride of me; PJ Harvey, Bush, 2003, párr. 3. Al these albums have achieved critical appraisal. For example, about the album Surfer rosa; The recordings were very basic and very demanding. Albini used few special effects; he got an aggressive, often violent, guitar sound and made sure that the rhythm section hit as one. Azerrad, 2001. Pág. 53. Also about the album In utero; Steve Albini, an advocate of aggressive, live sounding production, who gave the trio the raw, guttural sound they desired. Barker, 2014, párr. 2. The characteristics offered by the microphone techniques in Steve Albinis recording work were the focus of this research. These techniques were adapted to the microphones that could be used in the recording of the practical work and were applied to the concept of thrash punk style of the band H. The investigation was developed through a description of the procedures of the recording and a four song phonogram, applying the investigated knowledge about the microphone techniques of the recording engineer Steve Albini.
