Descripción : Album, Aurora, in 2009, with which he debuted as a singer, and exposed part of his cultural heritage. In the repertoire of the album, Cohen implemented traditional songs of the Sephardic people. The Sephardic people are a Jewish group settled in Spain until 1492, which has a strong connection to the culture of the Hispanic country. In order to define the influence or not of the Sephardic tradition on Cohens album, this work presents a stylistic analysis of four themes selected from Aurora, where resources of the Sephardic tradition were identified in the album. Later, the identified resources were applied in two compositions by the author of the paper. Firstly, a repository of data about Sephardic music was created; after which the selected repertoire of Aurora was transcribed, and to these transcriptions a stylistic analysis was applied. After the analysis, the compositional work began, and in this process the identified Sephardic elements were applied. Finally, there was an interpretative work of the songs analyzed and the respective compositions, which were interpreted in a format of band with voice, piano, percussion, drums, double bass and inuk. After the analysis, it was concluded that there is Sephardic influence within Aurora; however, such influence is not greater than the influence of other traditions and cultural groups, such as the Turkish, Moroccan or Ashkenazi traditions. Therefore Aurora is not only focused in Sephardic music, but also encompasses various influences. This paper belongs to the line of investigation of performance, and the results of the paper were presented in a final recital where the chosen repertoire of Aurora and the compositions were executed.
