Descripción : The purpose of this project is to present the production of the song "No supiste quererme", which is performed by the trio “Los Bohemios” whose founder, Freddy González has been a reference of the Ecuadorian music. It was recorded in “FG records” which is an independent recording studio, using the knowledge gained in the career; during the process several options were considered about the song and its fulfillment for the musicians and the producer. In the pre-production, several instruments were considered which could accompany the trio. Two instruments were finally chosen, the accordion and the saxophone which during the following process were of great contribution for the song. Through the programmed rehearsals, the structure of the majority of the song was defined, which met the expectations of the group. In this way, at the hands of very qualified musicians in the genre, the production process began in this the correct microphone equipment was chosen, considering the type of instruments and obtaining very satisfactory results in the combination of all the instruments. In the Post-production, during the mixing and with a previous analysis of the characteristics of both the song and the reference, it was determined in which plane each instrument should be placed to, taking the reference as a guide, so that, the theme of the original song was kept the same and in order to achieve the sonority of the reference, being an element to emphasize in the song, but without forgetting the own contribution of the group. In the main part the inclusion of the accordion, with an instrumental dynamic different from the reference, getting more elements to define a better stereo image. Each instrument was mixed considering the characteristics of the genre. For these reasons the results were satisfactory, maintaining the essence of the original theme, but moving to a more modern version of it, fulfilling the technical requirements of both the musicians and the producer.
