| dc.description | Through time societies change and the States where they belong change also. There was a concept where a nation could only be a single and unique one inside a State. Today this concept has been put aside considering a new one: The Plurinational State. Within this new concept of State all nationalities, including the indigenous peoples, have to be part of the decisions that forge the existence and continuity of the State. Political representation (specially parlamentarian) takes the voice of the people through their representatives to create the ventures of the State and its life. So it is very important for the ethnic nationalities to have a protection policy implemented that allows them to exercise this right just as it happens in Bolivia and Colombia, two countries of the region. In order to be able to achieve the political representation of the indigenous peoples and nationalities inside the Legislature, aspects like the places where they inhabit and the density of the population must be considered along with the thoughts of which one is the most effective mechanism to be used for this end. | en |
