| Descripción : | One of the motivations to carry out this investigative work is to corroborate the main known causes that give rise to the massive Cuban migration. Therefore, as an essential part of this study, it was considered pertinent to focus on the social-cultural part of island migrants in the city of Quito, with an emphasis on knowing and verifying if there is a process of assimilation and adaptation to the local society specifically. Taking into account and based on theories that explain the different levels of assimilation and adaptation of migrants after their arrival at the place of destination, in order to make one effective research. It became important to develop this topic, because after a thorough review of literature found a gap in existing academic research. Thus, the research was developed in a qualitative way, since this methodology allowed to carry out interviews through which it was possible to obtain valid answers as to the questions that were raised. Once I finished the research in search of, indeed the majority of the Cuban migrants interviewed have welcomed part of the culture enough to be able to be accepted, get a job and a place to live. |
