Descripción : This research evaluated the nursing intervention in the immediate preoperative in the patients cared for in the emergency service of the Padre Carollo Hospital a Canto a la Vida located in the city of Quito To verify the research, a qualitative study was carried out, in which nursing personnel were evaluated with a checklist, in which all activities were checked and fulfilled. The instrument that is applied is a guide for each of the nursing staff, with their respective informed consent. In order to obtain a unified result of the different activities that must be performed by the nursing staff, a classification was made into four categories: The Relation between Nursing and Patient, Review, Evaluation and the Direct Care Part This research does not reveal that within the Nursing - Patient Ratio category, 85.95% if they correctly perform the activities, while 14.07% did not; Within the Revision category, 82.5% of nurses checked everything necessary for surgery while 17.05% did not; In the Evaluation category of 98.76% and meets all activities with the same amount 1.26% does not meet and finally in the category Direct Care to the nursing staff and meets with 79.18% while a 20, 85 Does not comply Finally, with these results it is important to update the hospital checklist, since it has been 3 years that used the same tool, and within the checklist of the creation of activities that improve the warmth of care Patient activities within the checklist of the hospital if they exist and they comply with 100%.
