The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of an organic pigment of carrot poder, (Daucus carota) on the coloration in shank and carcasses of Broiler chikens at 28 and 42 days of age, through the use of reflectance colorimeter Konica Minolta CR-300 and DSM broiler fan. The experimental group consisted of 300 unsexed broiler chikens BB, which were divided into 2 treatements of 150 birds. Both treatments were feeding with commercial feed but only treatment 2 was added 10% of carrot powder. The productive parameters were evaluated by the efficiency index (IE) at 28 and 42 days. At 28 days, the IE of treatment 1 was better in 4% while at 42 days, the best IE was in treatment 2 with 8%. The Levene test for equality of variances and the Statistical Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and TUKEY HSD multiple rank tests were applied for independent samples between treatment 1 and 2, determined that there were significant differences between treatments (p> 0.05). It was concluded that the degree of pigmentation between treatments was one (01) difference delta compared to treatment 1 and that the best cost / benefit ratio was presented in treatment 2, with a difference of $ 0,08 cents in relation to the treatment 1.en
