This project consists of the redesigning of the Hotel Ajaví, which is located in the city of lbarra, and it is part of the lmbabura province. The project proposes the usage of a new concept for the remodeling of the hotel as a palm tree because it is a symbol that belongs to part of the history of this city, and in fact one can find one of these trees as a part of the landscape of the hotel. The objective of this project is to create an avantgarde design that reflects a new identity through the treatment of textures, colors, materials, and the most appropriate elements to bring spacious places inside the hotel. Another purpose is to keep the most suitable, ergonomic, dimensional, and anthropometric requirements in all the places. One can achieve this objective by interpreting and understanding the elements that form the palm tree, so that it is possible to make a light design that links and combines the contemporary transparency and the aesthetics in simple materials like; wood, metal and glass, among other ones. The usage of the characteristics of the palm tree are reflected in the most important spaces of the Hotel Ajaví like the lobby, the restaurant, the interior square, the rooms and the principal facade, giving the main role that the Hotel Ajaví had inside the local society thirty years ago.en
