Descripción : Objectives: Assess the technical, financial and commercial feasibility (or lack of feasibility) of a business venture to provide consultancy services to handle sanitary registers, focused on private manufacturing or commercial enterprises in Ecuador. Methods: Development of a business plan, applying models, such as PEST and Porter to study macro environments, qualitative and quantitative methods for customer research, market segmentation schemes to describe an accurate market oriented strategy, establishing an organizational structure according to the type of business, and validating the profitability of project and sustainability through a financial evaluation model. Results: In Ecuador, the macro environment allows the establishment of a service oriented business with basic demands of technology and infrastructure. By using some of the facilities of an operating enterprise (Protrauma S.A.), it is possible to boost the development of a business unit for sanitary regulations consultancy services, that may offer two classes of services to meet the needs of a market segment keen to expend its funds as efficiently as possible to obtain a sanitary register. To make it achievable, the organization will be strongly based in its human capital, it means, driven by its qualified personnel. Requiring reasonable investments, mainly funded with own capital, the business project is capable to generate profits in the midterm, also producing a remarkable liquidity index. Conclusions: The business demonstrates capability to meet the needs of the chosen business market segment, defined as a group of small scale enterprises keen to optimize the expend of their resources when obtaining a sanitary register. On the other hand, the business achieves the main objective of the investors, increasing their capital value in the midterm, which is an important aspect bearing in mind that the industry is highly dynamic and changing.
